Kooyoora Park Retreat is located:

  • 65 km north west of Bendigo
  • West of the Calder Highway between Inglewood and Wedderburn
  • Major access route turn left off Calder Highway 7km from Inglewood. Follow Brenanah-Kurting road for approx 10kms (cross roads sign posts), follow for 1km.
  • Access via Kingower, turn at Blanche Barkly Winery and follow old Cobb & Co Coach route for approx 7kms. Turn left into Kingower-Wedderburn road (sign post on right) follow road for 2kms (cross roads sign post), turn left into Brenanah/Wehla road and follow for 1km.

Set on 78 tranquil acres on the ridge of Mount Kooyoora and surrounded by thousands of acres of State Forest, Kooyoora Park Retreat is ideally situated near one of the most historically significant, intact gold fields town in central Victoria where gold prospecting is not a thing of the past, with nuggets still being discovered. For the ardent horse lover the bush riding is unsurpassable. Amazing horse riding trails through some of the most magnificent scenery throughout Kooyoora State Park and renowned Melville cave region. While staying with us you can enjoy the tranquility of our surroundings and be amazed by the wonderful variety of wild life in their natural habitats.

Within a short distance the town of Inglewood offers superb country dining with a choice of two historically intact hotels. For those interested in astronomical phenomenon, this region offers the clearest skies for the budding astronomer. Enjoy the superb bush walking tracks and be amazed by some of the most amazing geological formations in Australia. While there, take a trip to the crystal mine where it is still possible to find crystal lying on the ground.

For the wine lover, there are excellent wineries within 7 minutes drive of the Retreat. We offer guaranteed quality service and flexibility to meet customers' expectations so come and stay in tranquil surrounds and enjoy all the attractions the region has to offer.

Most of the major open forest communities typical of north-central Victoria are present, including Blakely's red gum, yellow and grey box and red ironbark. Nineteen species of rare, interesting or restricted plants occur, as well as many species of native orchids, creating a delightful display when in flower.
