Meet The Founder

June KainFrom the early years of marriage, as partner in a sheep, cattle and potato enterprise, June has been a seeker, a learner, and a planner, as she set about acquiring the necessary skills in managing the financial and accounting aspects of small business.

In latter years she capitalised on this stored knowledge, setting up and managing her own accommodation enterprise of three B&Bs.

Her interest in figures and finance has played an enormous role in her life's journey.

Encountering the unknown world of computers while she worked as Regional Finance Officer with the S.A. National Parks and Wildlife Sevice (a division of the Department of Environment & Planning), saw June once again committing herself to learning, learning the intricacies of these new business aids with characteristic zeal and determination, at a time when very few courses were available for beginners.

The results of her seeking and learning was the initiation of a computerised financial system which was endorsed by the Dept of Environment & Planning and the Treasury Accounting System for use throughout the Department's regional offices.

June spent an invaluable two years working with a Mount Gambier programmer in system development and was responsible for production of user guides, training 80 departmental staff and provision of online support throughout the State of S.A.

When she commenced positon of Tourism Manager, City of Mount Gambier where the primary role was management of "The Lady Nelson" Visitor and Discovery Centre, little did she realise that this would build a life-changing passion for tourism.  For the 12 years managing the operations of this very busy Visitor Centre, June gained a range of managerial skills and was also able to garner a diversity of knowledge as she produced brochures and publications, a website, calendar of events, provided information services, and supported a range of events and community organisations.

Now this gritty business woman offers you and the tourist industry the results of her life's journey of seeking and learning, planning and designing.  She comes with a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the industry, and especially cares about regional tourism.  Along the way she learnt tenacity, acquired formidable problem solving skills, and remains a great ambassador for tourism.
